The latest update for Google’s Pixel camera brings back quick access controls, much to the delight of users.

As part of the December Pixel Feature Drop, Google has updated the Camera app on Pixel phones to version 9.7. This update brings back the Quick Access Controls feature that was previously removed, much to the excitement of users. The update has been slowly rolling out, with some Reddit users receiving it 8 days later and expressing their joy at the return of this feature.

Quick Access Controls allow users to quickly adjust white balance, brightness, and shadows while taking a picture through the Pixel Camera app on Pixel phones. To enable this feature on version 9.7, users can open the camera, tap on the Settings icon, select “More settings,” scroll to “Manual Controls,” and toggle on the “Quick access controls” option. Once enabled, users can simply tap on the viewfinder while taking a photo to access these sliders.

If you haven’t received the update on Google Play yet, you’re not alone. Google’s slow rollout process continues to frustrate users. The changes have been made quietly, without much fanfare from Google.
