With the rollout of One UI 7 and the completion of Android 15, Samsung is now launching a new series of monthly security updates for its devices, including models as old as the Galaxy S21 series. However, this phase may not last long, as Android 16 and One UI 8 are on the horizon. In the meantime, users can look forward to the May Android update.
The first devices to receive this minor May update are from the Galaxy S25 series, which makes sense given their recent release. While Samsung doesn’t always prioritize updating its newest devices first, it wouldn’t be surprising if they did.
MAY UPDATE FOR SAMSUNG DEVICES: Below are the build numbers for Samsung devices that have received the May Android update.
- Galaxy S25 Ultra: S938USQS3AYDF
- Galaxy S25+: S936USQS3AYDF
- Galaxy S25: S931USQS3AYDF
CHANGES IN THE SAMSUNG MAY UPDATE: This update is relatively minor, with Verizon stating simply, “The current software update provides the most up-to-date Android security patches for your device.”
If any additional changes are discovered, we will update this information accordingly.
