Oh No! The Galaxy S25 Edge Isn’t Making Waves

In January, during the launch of the Galaxy S25 series, Samsung surprised attendees at the Unpacked event by teasing the upcoming Galaxy S25 Edge. This device was largely shrouded in mystery, showcased for the press to capture and generate buzz. While details were scarce, it was clear that the S25 Edge’s standout feature was its impressive thinness.

Galaxy S25 Edge Sales Underperform: As the months passed, leading up to its launch in May, the anticipation built with various leaks and hints. However, when the S25 Edge was finally released, the reaction from the community was overwhelmingly critical, with many asking, “Who needed this?” It certainly posed a puzzling release for many.

New reports indicate that public sentiment might align with that skepticism, as sales have been described as “underwhelming,” prompting Samsung to significantly reduce production. Rather than maintaining steady sales in its initial months, interest has sharply declined after launch.

So, what’s the story behind the Galaxy S25 Edge? Samsung primarily marketed it as an extremely thin phone, but this singular focus seems inadequate. Priced at $1,099, the device raises questions, especially considering rumors that Apple might introduce a competing ultra-thin model. If that was Samsung’s strategy, it appears to have backfired.

The S25 Edge features a small battery due to its slim profile and lacks a top-tier camera system, yet it retains a flagship price tag. Aside from its thinness, there is little to distinguish it from other models in the Galaxy S25 lineup. It’s a large, ultra-slim phone that struggles to compete with the Galaxy S25+ or Galaxy S25 Ultra, despite being marketed at a premium price. It’s hard to understand who would choose this model over the other S25 options.

Additionally, today’s report hints that Samsung plans to replace the Galaxy S26+ with a Galaxy S26 Edge in next year’s lineup, as the “+” models have consistently underperformed. If true, this could be a smart move to offer customers more appealing choices at launch.
