The Asian handset market boasts a diverse range of devices, with popular brands like Vivo, OPPO, OnePlus, Xiaomi, and Honor dominating sales. Samsung, Google, and Apple are also making significant strides in the region.
Having used over 70 phones in 2024, I found Vivo to be particularly impressive. Their X100 Pro, X100 Ultra, V30 Pro, and V40 Pro models stood out, especially for their exceptional cameras and sensor capabilities.
Vivo’s success in China and India is evident, and the X200 Pro is expected to maintain this momentum in 2025. The focus should be on the Y series for mid-range presence while continuing to innovate in the V series.
OPPO, on the other hand, needs to improve its camera offerings with the upcoming X8 Ultra to compete globally against Apple and Samsung. OnePlus continues to impress with its device portfolio, and the OnePlus 13 launch is highly anticipated for the brand’s future prospects.
Xiaomi needs to re-evaluate its product strategy, moving back to budget phones with strong value propositions to remain competitive. Honor, on the other hand, is gaining traction with its premium devices like the Magic 6 Pro and Magic V3.
Google’s upcoming Pixel 10 is expected to address hardware shortcomings, positioning it better against competitors. Samsung, on the other hand, needs to refocus on its mid-range offerings to maintain market share.
The mobile industry in 2025 is shifting towards more feature-packed mid-range and high-end devices, offering consumers a wider selection and better overall value in smartphones.
