T-Mobile’s live event earlier today wasn’t limited to announcements about satellite service and free DoorDash DashPass. They also made a brief but significant update regarding their Metro prepaid service, revealing enhancements to their top two unlimited plans with increased premium 5G data.
Metro by T-Mobile 5G Data Enhancements: The two leading plans, the $50 Metro Flex Unlimited and the $60 Metro Flex Unlimited Plus, will now offer larger data allowances at full speeds. Previously limited to 35GB before potential throttling on congested networks, these plans will now receive boosts to 50GB and 70GB of premium data, respectively.
This update will take effect on June 26. If you don’t see the changes reflected on the plan pages or in your usage right away, a little patience is key. T-Mobile and Metro will implement these data increases shortly.
There are no price hikes or additional changes announced; you simply get more premium data moving forward. Quite an upgrade!
