The Galaxy S25 does not come with Qi2 technology built-in, but it is compatible with Qi2 technology with the use of special cases.

The announcement of Qi2 in late 2023 had the world buzzing with excitement, as many hoped it would bring Apple’s MagSafe technology to Android phones, allowing for a wider range of accessories. However, throughout 2024, no major Android players embraced Qi2, leaving people wondering if 2025 would be the year for it to take off.

The Galaxy S25 was recently unveiled, but it is not truly a Qi2 device, even the expensive Galaxy S25 Ultra. Samsung has confirmed that the Galaxy S25 series is “Qi2 compatible,” meaning they have created magnetic cases that meet the standards set by the Wireless Power Consortium at the moment. Unfortunately, it seems that phone makers are not eager to integrate Qi2 magnets into their devices and are opting for magnetic cases instead.

Samsung is offering official magnetic cases with magnetic rings, and companies like Spigen have official cases with Qi2 support. In summary, the Galaxy S25 is considered “Qi2 compatible” when paired with an official magnetic case that meets Qi2 standards.
