YouTube Premium now includes a sleep timer feature that allows users to set a time limit for viewing videos before automatically pausing playback.

Many of us enjoy watching YouTube late at night before drifting off to sleep, perhaps even dreaming of the latest tech gadgets. If you’re a YouTube Premium subscriber, you now have the opportunity to test out a new Sleep Timer feature that will be available for a limited time (at least until September 2).

To try out the Sleep Timer feature, simply go to youtube.com/new and click on the “Try it out” button next to the Sleep Timer option. Once enabled, you can choose a time limit for the video to play before automatically stopping, ranging from 10 minutes to 60 minutes or until the end of the video.

As the timer runs out or the video ends, a pop-up message will appear wishing you a restful sleep. If needed, you can also add more time to continue watching. Just remember, this feature is only available to YouTube Premium subscribers.

Despite the recent price increases, the benefits of ad-free YouTube content may make the subscription worth it for some. So if you’re a night owl who enjoys YouTube before bed, give the Sleep Timer feature a try and see if it enhances your viewing experience.
