An Apple TV completes sending a link to a nearby iPhone
Under the upcoming tvOS 18 update, Apple TV will introduce the ability to send links to nearby iPhones, allowing users to easily open websites or follow recommendations.
While YouTube has previously allowed advertisers to include links, this has been limited to ads and not general app usage. With the new tvOS 18 beta, developers may now have a way to incorporate link sharing options within their apps.
Prior to this update, the lack of a built-in browser on Apple TV has restricted the possibility of sharing web links. The addition of link sharing for Apple Vision Pro immersive videos in the beta hints at a more comprehensive approach to link-sharing capabilities.
Although currently in preview mode, the feature demonstrates how developers could utilize link-sharing for various purposes, such as sharing related content or immersive video experiences. This expansion opens up new possibilities for engagement on Apple TV.
These new features come alongside other enhancements in tvOS 18, including the InSight feature that displays music details used in TV shows, with the ability to purchase the music on an iPhone.
