Upgrade to Gmail’s Smart Reply with Gemini this month.

Smart Reply was introduced to Gmail in 2017 and Google has recently announced a major upgrade for the feature, which will be available on Gmail for Android, iOS, and the web later this month. The upgrade, called Contextual Smart Reply, will analyze incoming emails and suggest three fully crafted responses for users to choose from. Each option will include a header so users can see the sentiment of the response and make edits as needed.

For example, if a friend asks about signing up for pickleball lessons together, users can choose from options like “request more information,” “confirm sign up,” or “decline sign up.” If the user selects “request more information,” the suggested response might read, “Hi Ann, I’d love to sign up for pickleball lessons together this winter. Can you send me details about the program, like the cost, location, and scheduling options? Thanks, Maria.”

Contextual Smart Reply will be available later this month, and users can look forward to this exciting new feature. Check out a video of the feature in action below.
