Xiaomi is set to introduce an Ultra-level device in its latest series, but a new rumor indicates that it may take longer to arrive than expected.
According to Weibo leaker Digital Chat Station (DCS), Xiaomi has reportedly postponed the launch of the 15 Ultra. Despite this delay, the tipster did not provide a timeline for when the device will be released.
In a follow-up post, DCS mentioned a website certification listing for the Xiaomi 15 Ultra.
The listing reveals that the phone will come with 90W fast charging, as well as a battery capacity in the range of ~5,400mAh to ~5,800mAh and the possibility of 50W wireless charging. It also mentions satellite connectivity support for calls and texts.
There is no indication of a specific launch date in the certification listing, so we will have to wait for further updates in 2025.
The Xiaomi 15 and 15 Pro were launched in China in late October with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite. The Pro model features a 6.73-inch LTPO AMOLED 120Hz display and a 6,100mAh battery, as well as a Sony IMX858 telephoto lens with 5x zoom.
There are rumors suggesting that the 15 Ultra will have a battery upgrade from the previous 5,000mAh, potentially reaching ~5,400mAh or ~5,800mAh.
Since the Xiaomi 15 series was spotted at the FCC, there has been increased discussion about its global launch. The listing revealed that the phone will come with HyperOS 2.0 and two RAM/storage configurations: 12/256GB and 12/512GB. Speculation also surrounds the possible launch date of the phones, with February being mentioned as a possibility based on Xiaomi’s previous behavior.
It remains to be seen how the rumored delay of the 15 Ultra will impact the global release of the base model. While a February launch is not confirmed, it is a plausible scenario based on Xiaomi’s past release patterns.
