Samsung has verified that the Galaxy S25 Enterprise Edition will have longer support for major OS updates compared to the standard models.
Following its global introduction in January, the Galaxy S25 series received a boost in February with the official release of the Enterprise Editions for the Galaxy S25, S25 Plus, and S25 Ultra.
Unlike the regular Galaxy S25 models, which are set to receive seven years of Android and security updates, the Enterprise Edition goes a step further. According to the Samsung Knox website (via SamMobile), these specialized versions are guaranteed Android updates all the way up to Android 23, extending support to a full eight years for major OS updates.
Additionally, these devices will continue to receive security patches until January 2032, in addition to the major Android upgrades.
Security that goes the distance
Designed with businesses in mind, the Galaxy S25 Enterprise Edition comes loaded with the complete Knox Suite, offering defense-grade security and useful tools like Knox Manage for device management, Knox Capture for efficient data collection, and Knox Remote Support for immediate IT assistance.
Thanks to Knox, these devices are awarded the “Android Enterprise Recommended” badge, indicating their suitability for long-term business use without compromising security.
As an added benefit, Samsung includes a complimentary one-year subscription to the Knox Suite with every Enterprise Edition device. In addition, Microsoft Office and Google Cloud come pre-installed, making it ready for business use right out of the box.
Under the hood, the Galaxy S25 Enterprise Edition boasts the same powerful features as the regular models, including the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, 12GB of RAM, and more.
Furthermore, the Galaxy S25 Enterprise Edition comes equipped with intelligent AI tools like real-time call transcriptions with automatic summaries and a Writing Assist feature to enhance work emails.
While the latest Samsung phones are available worldwide, the Enterprise Edition is being rolled out selectively in a few markets.
Samsung has a track record of providing long-term support for its professional devices, and the Enterprise Editions continue this tradition.
Considering that the Galaxy S24 Enterprise Edition had the same update timeline as the standard model, the extended eight-year support for the S25 Enterprise Edition is even more noteworthy.
