The Satellite SOS feature of Pixel 9 may be available free of charge for a period of two years.

Google has been working on its Satellite SOS feature, set to be available for Pixel 9 lineup owners. This feature will allow users to connect to satellites above the earth’s surface to access emergency communications in remote locations or areas with poor cell service. Similar to Apple’s Emergency SOS, Google will offer Satellite SOS for free to Pixel owners for two years, after which a fee may be introduced.

Apple also provides two years of free Emergency SOS use on iPhones, but pricing details for the feature have not been disclosed. The usefulness of the feature is evident, with numerous reports of lives being saved thanks to satellite connectivity in emergency situations, particularly for outdoor enthusiasts in areas with limited cell service.

Would you be willing to pay for this feature? If so, how much are you willing to spend?
