The release of the iPhone 16 will not be affected by delays in the rollout of Apple Intelligence.

The forthcoming iPhone 16 is not expected to have major hardware changes from the previous model.

Apple reportedly has no plans to delay the release of the annual update for the iPhone 16, despite the Apple Intelligence features being only available weeks after the initial launch of iOS 18.

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman mentioned that the Apple Intelligence features only started appearing in the first developer beta of iOS 18.1, separate from the base features available for most iPhone models. Currently, the Apple Intelligence features are limited to the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max.

It is anticipated that all models of the iPhone 16 will support some Apple Intelligence features upon launch, although Apple has not provided a specific timeline for the complete rollout.

In his Power On newsletter, Gurman recalled a past instance where Apple delayed the release of an iPhone until October (the iPhone 4S, 13 years ago) due to unfinished iCloud and Siri features. However, this time, the iPhone 16 lineup is expected to launch in mid-September as usual.

AppleInsider has detailed the new features in the first iOS 18.1 beta, which includes writing tools, summarization features, and enhancements to Siri. Additional features like Genmoji and ChatGPT integration are anticipated in future betas.
