Apple may be on the verge of unveiling the iPhone 16, but new rumors about the iPhone 17 Pro Max suggest a significant boost in on-device Apple Intelligence with 12GB of RAM.

Apple has highlighted its commitment to Apple Intelligence as the future of iPhone, iPad, and Mac platforms. While the upcoming 2024 iPhone 16 series will focus on AI overall, the iPhone 17 appears to be designed to push the boundaries of performance.

Supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has suggested that the iPhone 17 Pro Max will offer exclusive features such as 12GB of RAM and vapor chamber cooling.

The standard models like iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Slim are expected to have 8GB of RAM, while only the iPhone 17 Pro Max will receive the performance boost with on-device AI capabilities.

The addition of vapor chamber cooling, along with rumored graphene sheets for iPhone 16, will enhance cooling efficiency and improve overall performance.

While rumors and predictions in the industry may not always be accurate, component orders for RAM and cooling systems align with Kuo’s track record of accuracy.

Rumors also suggest that the iPhone 17 Pro Max could feature a 48MP sensor for the 120mm lens, potentially upgrading all rear cameras to 48MP or higher in 2025.

Apple is gearing up to announce the iPhone 16 series at the “It’s Glowtime” Apple Event on September 9, 2024. Stay tuned for more rumors and updates leading up to the announcement of the iPhone 17 lineup about a year later.
