The Gmail app now allows users to reply quickly without opening a new screen.

This week, Google introduced a new quick reply feature in Gmail that will soon be available on the Android app. The key improvement is that replying to an email will no longer take you out of the email you were reading and into a separate screen. The screenshot below demonstrates how this feature will look on your device. By clicking the reply button, you can respond within the email by embedding an inline reply box. There is still an option to full-screen for a more formal reply if needed.

The purpose of this update is to provide a quicker and more convenient way to respond to emails that do not require a formal reply. This feature will be particularly useful for short, informal responses that keep the conversation flowing. The rollout of this change on Android started on August 26 and will gradually be available to users over the next 15 days. Google Workspace users may receive it first, but it will eventually reach all Gmail users. iOS users can expect to see this change later in the year.

For more information and to download the Gmail app, you can visit the Google Play Store. Keep an eye out for this new feature and let us know if you spot it on your device.
