The Butter Bot from Rick and Morty is officially coming to life, thanks to AI technology and will be available for purchase next year.

I must confess, we don’t discuss Rick and Morty enough here. It’s my fault, as I only recently started watching the show. When it comes to ranking my favorite things about the show, right after Pickle Rick, is the Butter Bot. Excitingly, Butter Bot is being transformed into a real AI-powered device with features such as a camera, the ability to speak, and more.

Currently available on Kickstarter and fully funded with shipping expected in September next year, Butter Bot has impressive capabilities. It can engage in AI-powered conversations, play games, recognize people and objects, and be controlled manually with an included controller. Additionally, the controller allows users to view a live feed of what Butter Bot sees, making it a handy home monitoring camera that can be moved remotely.

Butter Bot is also a STEM toy, with the option to add different modules for additional functions like detecting gases, acting as a climate calculator, motion detection, and more.

Android users are encouraged to help reach Butter Bot’s stretch goal of $400K (it’s currently at $330K) to enable Bluetooth connectivity between Butter Bot and mobile devices for controlling media playback and other tasks.

As the holiday season approaches, we will be highlighting unique gifts, and Butter Bot definitely fits the bill. Packages for Butter Bot start at just $139, which include the device and controller.
