Teslogic has successfully raised enough funds to bring Android functionality to Tesla vehicles. This update means that Tesla owners will now be able to use Android apps and features in their cars.

My wife is a huge fan of her Tesla, and while I appreciate the sleek software and regular updates, I can’t help but think how cool it would be if it ran on Android. Having the freedom to download any app I want, like YouTube Music, without waiting for Tesla to add it would be a game-changer.

That’s where Teslogic comes in with their Kickstarter campaign for Screenmate. This Android-powered box integrates Tesla’s systems into an Android interface, giving you access to all the Android capabilities you desire. With Screenmate, you can download and use any app from Google Play while still retaining control of your Tesla features. Teslogic even promises a revamped control panel for added convenience.

The technology behind Screenmate includes modules for video streams, touchscreen data, and the vehicle’s CAN buses, all powered by a modern Android computer with a Qualcomm chipset. Installation is a breeze, requiring just a few wires plugged into the Tesla MCU and Diagnostic Connector.

Priced at $599 currently, Screenmate offers a 33% discount from the expected MSRP. Delivery is estimated for May 2025, and with the project already fully funded, additional features are on the horizon.

If I drove my wife’s Tesla more often, I would definitely consider Screenmate for the freedom to access any Android app. The campaign has already surpassed $700,000, introducing a new feature that wirelessly beams your Tesla’s blind spot camera to your smartphone.

Live videos of the technology in action have been shared, showing its speed and responsiveness. Don’t miss out on this campaign – check out the Kickstarter link below for more information.
