What you need to know

  • Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy S25, S25 Plus, and the Galaxy S25 Ultra in the U.S. on January 22 or 23, 2025.
  • Multiple sources, including Korean media and tipster Max Jambor, have shared these expected dates.
  • If accurate, the next flagship series will be slightly delayed compared to early launch rumors.

Samsung’s upcoming flagship phones are anticipated to launch early next year, but new information suggests a later January launch date.

A Korean media outlet reported that the Unpacked event will take place on January 23, 2025, differing from the Galaxy S24 series launch date of January 17.

The Unpacked event is expected to be held in San Francisco, U.S., with tipster Max Jambor suggesting a January 22, 2025 date.

While the exact dates may vary, the launch of the Galaxy S25 series is not significantly different from its predecessors. Previous rumors of an early launch did not materialize, but there is still a chance for date adjustments as we approach the event.

Samsung previously launched the Galaxy S23 series in San Francisco in 2023 and introduced successors in San Jose. It is likely that the next flagship phones will also be unveiled in San Francisco.

At the upcoming Unpacked event, we expect the Galaxy S25, S25 Plus, and Galaxy S25 Ultra to be revealed. Rumors also suggest a new Galaxy S25 Slim in development, expected to debut in the second quarter of 2025 separate from the Galaxy S25 series.

The Galaxy S25 Slim is speculated to be a thinner variant of the flagship lineup to compete with Apple’s rumored iPhone 17 “Air,” also set to launch next year. Reports hint that the Galaxy S25 Slim could be a pilot program for Samsung with a possible mass-market successor, the Galaxy S26 series, in the following year if successful.
