Samsung has announced that it will now be providing quarterly security updates for its Galaxy S21 series of smartphones.

Samsung’s Galaxy S21 series will now receive quarterly updates instead of monthly ones. This means that owners of the Galaxy S21, S21+, and S21 Ultra will see fewer updates throughout the year. While Samsung has committed to providing updates for its latest phones, such as the S24 and S25 series, older models like the Galaxy S21 will eventually be moved to quarterly update schedules. If you value having the latest security patches, consider upgrading to the Galaxy S25. Samsung is currently offering $500 of trade-in credit for those trading in a Galaxy S21 Ultra. Official support for updates on the Galaxy S21 series is expected to end in January 2026.
