Samsung has announced plans to reduce a significant portion of their workforce, although production staff will not be affected by the cuts.

Reports indicate that Samsung is planning to reduce its workforce in select overseas divisions by up to 30%. The cuts are expected to affect workers in the Americas, Europe, Asia, and Africa, with the goal of completing the process by the end of the year. Samsung has stated that these adjustments are routine and intended to improve efficiency, with no specific targets set and production staff unaffected. It is noted that no job cuts are anticipated in South Korea due to political sensitivities. The decision comes as global demand for tech products remains low, prompting companies to make necessary preparations for challenging times. As of the end of 2023, Samsung employed a total of 267,800 people, with a majority of them based overseas. (Source: Reuters)
