The Olympic and Paralympic Games Paris 2024 officially came to an end with the closing ceremony of the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games on September 8. Across more than six weeks of excitement and inspiration, Samsung Electronics and its industry-leading technology improved the Games-time experience like never before.

The new Galaxy Z Flip6 Olympic Edition helped athletes capture and share lifelong memories at Paris 2024 through the introduction of the Victory Selfie — allowing medalists to create a visual memory book from their own perspective for more personalized photos instead of the ones traditionally taken by accredited media.

Meaningful Connections: Nearly 17,000 Athletes Received the Galaxy Z Flip6 Olympic Edition

Exclusively designed for the Olympic and Paralympic Games Paris 2024, the Galaxy Z Flip6 Olympic Edition was a hit among athletes as they connected with family, friends and fans in new ways. Powered by Galaxy: Almost 15,000 Galaxy Devices Utilized by Organizers

Staff and volunteers, the backbone of Games-time operations, kept the Olympic and Paralympic Games Paris 2024 running with a collection of nearly 15,000 Galaxy devices — including more than 7,100 Galaxy smartphones, 2,500 Galaxy Tab series tablets and 5,200 Galaxy Book series laptops. The Galaxy ecosystem’s seamless integration helped deliver a smooth experience for athletes and fans in attendance.

Closer Than Ever: A New View of All the Action With 250+ Smartphones, 360 Days of Testing and Over 100 Experts

Samsung opened the Olympic and Paralympic Games Paris 2024 to millions of fans watching from around the world. In collaboration with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and Olympic Broadcasting Service (OBS), more than 200 Galaxy S24 Ultra smartphones were installed on the boats used in the Olympic Games opening ceremony on the Seine River and the sailing competition in Marseille. Footage was transmitted by Orange through a newly installed, private 5G network and brought fans closer to the excitement.

Athletes and fans enjoyed Olympic™ rendezvous @ Samsung pop-up experiences across Paris (Champs-Elysees 125, Square Marigny and Village Plaza) in record numbers. More than 380,000 visitors experienced the latest Galaxy innovations firsthand and learned how Samsung’s technology evolved with the Olympics for almost four decades.

 

Fans got a chance to meet their heroes with surprise drop-ins from some Team Samsung Galaxy athletes at Olympic™ rendezvous @ Samsung l Square Marigny and inspiring “Chats with Team Samsung Galaxy” sessions at Olympic™ rendezvous @ Samsung l Champs-Elysees 125.
