Samsung is actively rolling out One UI 7 (Android 15) to eligible devices, following a substantial wait for Galaxy users. Given the scale of this update to Android 15, some delays are understandable. However, due to changes in Google’s Android launch schedule, it’s reported that One UI 8 (Android 16) will enter beta testing later this month.
Beta versions of One UI 8 have already surfaced, including hands-on experiences with the Galaxy Z Flip 6. Users shouldn’t anticipate major changes between Android 15 and Android 16, but several refinements have been previewed, such as Now Brief for older devices, an enhanced Quick Share feature, and expanded device support for log video recording in the camera app, which will debut exclusively with the Galaxy S25 series.
The beta version is expected to launch in select markets during the third week of May, with a broader rollout planned for June. We’ll keep you updated as more details about device compatibility and availability emerge.
With Google I/O just two weeks away, discussions around Android 16 are likely to ramp up significantly. Stay tuned!
