Several OnePlus users have experienced a persistent green line issue on their phone screens. In response, OnePlus has launched a program to address this issue permanently.
Recent OnePlus flagship devices have been in the spotlight, not for positive reasons, as a troublesome “green line” display glitch has been causing frustration for users. This issue, commonly found on OLED models, gained attention last year as more instances were reported.
To address this problem, OnePlus initially offered free screen replacements under specific circumstances. Now, the company has taken a step further with the introduction of the “Green Line Worry-Free Solution” program, ensuring lifetime coverage for all affected devices.
The warranty applies to all OnePlus devices, regardless of their age. To combat the green line issue, OnePlus has outlined a three-step strategy, with the highlight being the lifetime warranty solution. The company explained that this problem is not caused by a single factor but a combination of issues.
In response, OnePlus is upgrading its AMOLED screens with an Enhanced Bonding Layer. This PVX edge seal helps in blocking moisture and oxygen, which in turn preserves the display quality and longevity.
Furthermore, OnePlus’ AMOLED displays now undergo more than 180 rigorous tests, replicating extreme real-world conditions, to prevent the appearance of green lines and establish a new standard for reliability.
The green line problem appears to be more prevalent in India, prompting OnePlus to offer the lifetime warranty exclusively in that region for now, as reported by Android Police. In the U.S. and Europe, however, the standard one- or two-year warranty is still in effect, depending on the location.
This is not the first instance where OnePlus has intervened to address the green line issue. Previously, the company provided discount vouchers to some affected users in India as a form of compensation for the inconvenience.
OnePlus has also clarified that if replacement parts are unavailable for older devices, they may offer upgrade vouchers to assist users in acquiring a newer OnePlus model.
