Earlier this week, OnePlus unveiled two new additions to its Ace 5 series, namely the OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra Edition and the Ace 5 Racing Edition.
These models are designed for gaming aficionados, merging an elegant design with robust hardware and outstanding battery life for an “ultimate gaming experience.” The ergonomic design ensures optimal comfort, minimizing hand strain during extended gaming sessions.
Both smartphones are powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9400e chipset. What distinguishes this “Esports triple chip,” as per Panda Daily, is a pioneering full-chain, hardware-level gaming solution.
The triple chip consists of the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 Plus processor, the Lingxi touch-control chipset, and the gaming-centric G1 Wi-Fi chip. Both devices also feature a 50MP primary camera and a 16MP front-facing camera, albeit with some differences.
OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra
The OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra, also known as the Extreme or Supreme Edition, boasts a 6.83″ OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It offers five memory configurations, varying from 12GB or 16GB of RAM and choices of 256GB, 512GB, or up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage.
The camera setup includes a 50MP primary lens with a f/1.8 aperture, featuring autofocus and OIS, in addition to an 8MP ultrawide lens with a 112-degree field of view, alongside the 16MP front-facing camera mentioned earlier.
For uninterrupted gaming, the device houses a substantial 6,700 mAh battery, supporting 100W wired charging. OnePlus claims it can achieve a full charge in just 39 minutes and can provide 3 hours of power with just 10 minutes of charging, alleviating battery anxieties during gameplay.
The OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra operates on Android 15 with AI-enhanced ColorOS 15 right out of the box. Additionally, it features IP65-rated water and dust resistance. The device includes OnePlus’ new customizable shortcut button for easy access to essential functionalities.
This model comes in three color options: Titanium, Phantom Black, and Breeze Blue, starting at 2,499 CNY (approximately $346.88), with prices increasing based on storage selections.

OnePlus Ace 5 Racing
The OnePlus Ace 5 Racing Edition shares many specifications with the Ultra version; however, it features a larger 7,100mAh battery and supports 80W charging, catering to gamer demands.
The Ace 5 Racing sports a slightly smaller 6.77″ AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution and a maximum 120Hz refresh rate.
As reported by GSMArena, the phone includes some AI capabilities such as 4K video upscaling and object removal in photos. The OnePlus Ace 5 Racing is available in White, Black, and Mint Green, with storage configurations identical to those of the Ace 5 Ultra. Beginning at CNY 1,799 ($249.71), this device is a value option.
Despite the robust specs, it’s disappointing that these phones are currently exclusive to the Chinese market with no updates on a global launch.
