New images depict A14 memory component destined for ‘iPhone 12’

A few months ahead of the rumored “iPhone 12” launch, images of an Apple A14 chip component have surfaced online.

The images in question depict the RAM portion of an A14 chipset, according to Mr. White, who posted the images to Twitter on Monday. Mr. White is a known leaker who has previously shared accurate images and details about future Apple products.

Aside from some numbering, the images don’t reveal much about the A14 chipset — or the devices that they’ll be installed in, for that matter. The “2016” date on this particular chip refers to the 16th week of 2020, which suggests that the chip as manufactured in April of the year.

The upcoming chipset itself is said to be the first manufactured by TSMC with a 5nm chipmaking process. Apparent leaked benchmark scores indicate that the chip may be twice as fast as the A12Z in the iPad Pro.
