It has been reported that Google has canceled the release of the Pixel Tablet 2.

The idea of a potential Pixel Tablet 2 being released soon is not something that has been on my mind much, to be honest. The initial Pixel Tablet from Google did not impress me, as it lacked essential features, failed to function effectively as a smart home hub, did not have the necessary accessories to be a productive device, and was priced too high for its capabilities.

However, today we are discussing the possibility of a Pixel Tablet 2 – or more accurately, a Pixel Tablet 2 that has reportedly been cancelled. According to a new rumor, Google has stopped development of the Pixel Tablet 2 because they may end up losing money on it. While the specific reasons for this decision are unclear, considering the issues with the original Pixel Tablet, it is not difficult to imagine why this might be the case.

The rumored codename for the device is “kiyomi,” and it was said to be running on Tensor G4 in its development stage, with plans for both WiFi and 5G versions. But if the project is indeed cancelled, it’s uncertain if any of these features will ever see the light of day. This marks the end of the story.

The original Pixel Tablet was a budget Android tablet that Google initially priced at $500 in an attempt to include a dock. However, this decision led to usability issues, a subpar speaker in the dock, and ultimately a disappointing device that fell short of expectations. Despite the promising concept, the execution left much to be desired.

The future of the Pixel Tablet 2 is now uncertain, and its potential release would come as a surprise. For those interested in purchasing the original Pixel Tablet, it is now available at a more reasonable price of $279.
