Nothing’s marketing campaign for the Phone 3 is creating buzz by announcing the end of the Glyph Interface and the introduction of the Glyph Matrix. A recent teaser showcasing the new lighting system on the back of the Phone 3 appears to contradict an earlier render leak.
Nothing Phone 3 Glyph Matrix: As previously stated, the Glyph Matrix will launch with the Nothing Phone 3, featuring a lighting system reminiscent of a dot matrix. This innovative setup can display various shapes and graphics, as suggested in a recent tease by the company, highlighted by the phrase “When light becomes language.” This hints at capabilities beyond simple blinking lights.
The new lighting mechanism will be located in the top right corner of the rear, rather than spanning the entire back like its predecessor, the Nothing Phone 2. See a preview in the screenshot below, and check out the video teaser further down.
This teaser clip offers limited insight, confirming that the back of the phone won’t be entirely covered in dot matrix lights, which some might find disappointing. However, the rear lighting concept remains intriguing, especially for those who rarely place their phones face down. I’m curious about the settings and features Nothing will incorporate, as they could enhance notifications and information sharing.
It appears this teaser invalidates the earlier render leak, which notably lacks space for the new lighting system. The leaked image features a central rounded camera setup with a circular housing that seems too substantial to accommodate these lights.
The Nothing Phone 3 is set to launch on July 1, with official support for the US market. I’m looking forward to it!
