Android 15 QPR2 Beta 2 is now rolling out to testers with eligible Pixel devices, starting today, Dec. 16, according to Google’s announcement on the official Android Beta Program subreddit. Along with various bug fixes and enhancements, the update brings some exciting new features.
Earlier versions of Android 15 beta releases hinted at some upcoming features, which are now active in Android 15 QPR2 Beta 2. For instance, the Linux Terminal app is now operational in this beta version. Initially seen in Android 15 QPR2 Beta 1, the app did not function properly and would crash while loading a virtual machine. However, in Android 15 QPR2 Beta 2, users can download, configure, and run Linux instances using the Android Virtualization Framework.
Testers of Android 15 QPR2 Beta 2 have confirmed the functionality of the Linux Terminal app after updating, as noted by Android expert Mishaal Rahman in a post on X (formerly Twitter). In addition to this, notification cooldowns, which were initially thought to be part of Android 16, are also implemented in Android 15 QPR2 Beta 2.

The update is now accessible for Pixel 6 series, Pixel 7 series, Pixel 8 series, Pixel 9 series, Pixel Fold, and Pixel Tablet. Users can join the Android Beta Program to receive Android 15 QPR2 updates or manually install the update. Enrollment information can be found here.
Google mentions that it may take up to 24 hours for the update to show up, and users can check manually by going to Settings > System > System updates.
The build number for Android 15 QPR2 Beta 2 is BP11.241121.010, with update sizes ranging from megabytes to gigabytes, depending on the device model. The update resolves several bugs, as listed in Google’s release notes.
