Meta is introducing a playful feature across its platforms that utilizes AI to turn users into different versions of themselves.
Meta AI is evolving, and Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of the company, showcased “Imagine Me” on Instagram. Users can interact with Meta AI and transform themselves into various characters by starting their request with “Imagine me” followed by the desired character.
The process involves taking three selfies as instructed by the AI, and users can then request to be imagined as either fictional or non-fictional characters.
In a blog post, Meta mentioned that users will have some creative freedom when requesting to be imagined as a DJ. Users can also request changes if they are not satisfied with the initial result.
Meta has announced that an “Edit with AI” button will be available next month, providing users with further editing capabilities while using the software.
Users can begin exploring “Imagine Me” this week as Meta begins rolling out the feature. It can be accessed on Instagram, WhatsApp, Facebook, and Messenger, allowing users to create images of themselves in various settings.
Earlier this month, it was revealed that WhatsApp would also receive the “Imagine Me” feature, allowing users to use it in chats with other users. The feature has sparked interest from other companies, with Google experimenting on a similar AI feature for YouTube Shorts known as “Dream Screen.”
The “Dream Screen” feature on YouTube Shorts would enable creators to simulate a green screen background while recording, creating the illusion of being in various locations like mountains or oceans.
