I had a great experience using the new MagSafe SSD enclosure from Dockcase with my Pixel 9 Pro XL.

Dockcase is renowned for its innovative tech accessories, especially its SSD enclosures and USB-C docks. What sets their products apart is the inclusion of an LCD panel that displays real-time information such as charging status, connection details, and data transfer progress.

The latest offering from Dockcase is the Smart MagSafe M.2 SSD Enclosure. Priced at $49 during the Kickstarter campaign, it will later retail for $79 for the 15W model and $69 (retailing at $99) for the 100W edition.

The MagSafe SSD enclosure boasts an aluminum chassis, weighing just 53g. Its passive cooling system effectively prevents overheating of the enclosed SSD. The device easily connected to my iPhone 16 Pro Max and was compatible with Android phones using MagSafe accessories via cases.

I recommend Corsair’s MP600 Core Mini for use with gaming handhelds like the Steam Deck. The MagSafe SSD enclosure features 10Gbps USB 3.2 Gen 2 connectivity, providing fast and reliable data transfer, while also delivering up to 90W of power via passthrough mode.
