Hey there, introducing the Pixel 9a!

Google and hardware secrets have a tumultuous relationship, as every phone Google attempts to release ends up leaking early in prototype form. The Pixel 9a, Google’s expected mid-range phone, is now following this trend. Thanks to a Pixel-friendly Facebook group, we have a glimpse of the Pixel 9a prototype, showcasing a squared-off side design with rounded corners and a dual camera housing almost flush with the backside. The prototype features a logo that is similar but not identical to Google’s usual “G” symbol, indicating its status as a prototype device.

The user who shared these images quickly deleted them, fueling speculation online. The design of the Pixel 9a appears to be in line with the A-series as a more affordable option compared to the higher-end Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro. The release timing of the Pixel 9a remains a mystery, as it seems early compared to previous A-series launches. Could Google surprise us by releasing the A-series earlier than expected? Only time will tell.
