Google has introduced a new UI design for the visual history page related to user searches through Lens.
As reported by 9to5Google, the latest UI changes apply to the visual search history of Google Lens on the user’s My Activity page. The feature now includes a specific “Lens history” page, where all previously searched images through the camera are displayed in a grid format. Users can access this grid by clicking on the clock icon in the top right corner of the Lens camera UI.
Google organizes Lens searches by month, similar to how photo history appears in Photos. Each Lens thumbnail includes details about the date and time of the search.
9to5Google also found that tapping on an old Lens photo search will trigger Google to “reanalyze” the data and display the results once again.
The option to download photos taken through Lens remains, but users will need to tap on the three-dot button below the photo.
The updated visual history UI for Google Lens is now available on both Android and iOS devices.
The original version of Google Lens’ visual search history was first introduced in March, before which Lens searches were not saved on the device. This feature is opt-in and can be accessed by going to your Google account, then navigating to Data & Privacy > Web & App activity > Include Visual Search History.
Google Lens will only save visual searches conducted through the main Google app. Searches made through Google Photos and Circle to Search will not appear in the history.
