Google announced today that it is launching a new version of Gemini in Android Studio specifically designed for businesses. This version, available with Gemini Code Assist Standard or Enterprise subscriptions, offers added security and IP protections to the existing Gemini features.

The features include familiar Gemini in Android Studio tools like build and sync error support, App Quality Insights, and Compose Preview Generation. The goal of Gemini in Android Studio is to assist app developers in creating and maintaining Android apps, with this version focusing on addressing concerns that business owners and enterprises may have when using AI for their apps.

These tools are customizable and can be linked to a company’s internal codebase by connecting to GitHub, GitLab, or BitBucket repositories.

Unlike other Gemini offerings, code created with Gemini in Android Studio for businesses is not stored by Google and is not used for training new AI models. Businesses can have complete control over how their code is used and protected using security features like Private Google Access, VPC Service Controls, and Enterprise Access Controls.
