Google has launched a collection of 40 new pageless templates for Google Docs as part of Workspace. These templates, which incorporate Docs features, are designed to be visually modern and of high quality, catering to various needs and offering specialized options for enterprise and education users.
The pageless templates come equipped with document tabs and placeholder chips, two features that were available in Google Docs previously. Document tabs aid in organizing lengthy documents into manageable sections, while placeholder chips simplify workflows by facilitating the addition of people, dates, files, events, and locations.
Aside from document tabs and placeholder chips, the 40 new templates feature custom designs, fonts, and structures. Google has provided templates for blog posts, press releases, business proposals, and journals, along with specialized options such as:
- A project roadmap, marketing plan, and sales emails for business users.
- An interview guide, onboarding guide, and training manual for human resource teams.
- A reading list and class notes templates for education users.
To add a template to a new Google Doc, you can utilize the new Templates building block at the top of a blank document. Alternatively, you can access templates by going to File > New > From template gallery in the Google Docs toolbar.
These new templates are accessible to all Google Workspace users, although it may take some time for them to appear for everyone. Both rapid release and scheduled release domains will begin seeing these 40 new templates today, but the full rollout could take up to 15 days.
Google has assured users that there will be “even more high-quality Docs template options in the coming months.”
