Samsung is updating its demo-focused app to generate excitement around its upcoming Android update.
A recent update to the Try Galaxy app allows users on older Galaxy devices and other Android phones to try out One UI 7 features. The app’s official page now reflects Samsung’s upcoming Android 15-based update. Users can expect to simulate new core systems like the Now Brief on their devices.
The Now Brief widget is available in the app’s demo for the home screen. This small, pill-shaped widget displays quick information before expanding when tapped, similar to the Galaxy S25. Tapping the widget provides a simulated briefing with weather information, schedule details, and more.
The playtest also showcases Samsung’s revamped Quick Settings panel. One UI 7 separates the Quick Settings panel from the notifications panel, a feature teased during SDC 2024 and debuted on the latest flagship trio.
The Try Galaxy simulation also includes Samsung’s new icon design. The updated app drawer redesign can also be experienced in the demo. Users can visit the official website, scan the QR code, and start downloading the simulation on Android and iOS.
Interestingly, Samsung’s Try Galaxy app was previously exclusive to Apple’s iPhones as a way to entice users to switch to Android. The app simulated the Android experience on Samsung’s recent smartphones and foldable devices.
Now, the Try Galaxy app is available to Android users as Samsung transitions into its “era of mobile AI.” The core Galaxy AI features were present during the test, along with the One UI 6.1 update for interested users. The Galaxy AI playtest allowed users to try out features like Live Translate, Note Assist, and Chat Assist.
This Try Galaxy update is rolling out just before the launch of One UI 7 in April. Samsung recently confirmed the release of One UI 7 for eligible Galaxy devices after some delays. The company has also started its first beta program for the Flip 6 and Fold 6.
