Gemini Unveils Two Exciting New Features: Canvas and Audio Overviews

Gemini introduced two new features this week: Canvas and Audio Overviews. Canvas is a collaborative tool that allows you to work with Gemini in real-time to create or edit documents. For example, you can upload class notes and ask Gemini to generate a draft speech based on them. You can then make adjustments and edits as needed. Another example provided by Google is using Canvas to create a tic-tac-toe game for learning to code.

To use Canvas, simply click on the “Canvas” button in the “Ask Gemini” box on the Gemini website.

Audio Overviews is another new feature that allows you to upload documents, slides, or research reports and have Gemini turn them into podcast-style audio clips. This feature is available on both the web and mobile platforms. You can convert your notes into audio for convenient listening or create audio overviews of research subjects for insights in an audio format.

Both Canvas and Audio Overviews are now available globally for Gemini and Gemini Advanced subscribers.
