Galaxy S25 Edge Renders Reveal Ultra-Slim Design with Compromised Battery and Camera Performance

Since Samsung first teased the Galaxy S25 Edge earlier this year, we’ve been eagerly gathering information about the device. Thanks to various leaks and reports, we have a good understanding of its key features, though we’re still uncertain about the official pricing in the US. However, we believe we have a rough estimate.

Recent revelations from WinFuture have provided us with stunning 360-degree press renders of the Galaxy S25 Edge, showcasing its remarkably thin 5.8mm profile. To put this in perspective, it’s significantly thinner than the Pixel 9 (8.5mm) and the Galaxy S25 (7.2mm), although this slim design may compromise both battery life and camera performance.

According to the latest details, the S25 Edge will have a 3,900mAh battery and will forgo the third camera that has become standard in recent Galaxy devices. The two cameras featured will include a 200-megapixel wide-angle main camera (with OIS) and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera. Unfortunately, it appears there will be no telephoto lens, which is disappointing when considering the expected pricing.

For comparison, the Pixel 9 boasts a 4,700mAh battery, while the Galaxy S25 has a 4,000mAh battery. Although we hoped Samsung would introduce new battery technology to maximize capacity while keeping the size down, there’s no evidence suggesting they will. Nevertheless, the Galaxy S25’s battery performance is commendable, largely due to the efficient Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, which the S25 Edge is also rumored to utilize.

The concerning aspect is the price. Reports indicate that the European price for the 256GB model is expected to start at €1,249, with the 512GB model priced at €1,369. While we await US pricing, this pricing strategy seems unappealing, especially given the compromises on battery and camera features. The launch is anticipated for late May.

We’d love to hear your initial thoughts on this device. While a slim profile is impressive, battery life and camera capabilities are equally important.
