“Friday Night Baseball” is back on Apple TV+ starting March 28
The exclusive weekly doubleheaders return for their fourth season, featuring the New York Mets facing the Houston Astros and the Baltimore Orioles taking on the Toronto Blue Jays.
Additionally, the new docuseries “Fight for Glory: 2024 World Series” will debut later this month along with the immersive baseball film “VIP: Yankee Stadium” next month.
Apple and Major League Baseball (MLB) have announced the return of “Friday Night Baseball,” a weekly doubleheader on Apple TV+, kicking off for the 2025 regular season. Fans in 60 countries will be able to watch two exciting matchups each week over 25 weeks, enjoying high-quality production, expert commentary, and no local blackout restrictions.
The season commences on Friday, March 28, showcasing some of baseball’s biggest names. The opening weekend starts at 6:30 p.m. ET with All-Star Adley Rutschman and the Baltimore Orioles hosting Silver Slugger Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and the Toronto Blue Jays. The second game features Juan Soto and the New York Mets facing off against Jose Altuve and the Houston Astros at 7:30 p.m. ET.
The full schedule for the first half of the “Friday Night Baseball” season has also been announced, running through June 27. Highlights include a Yankees-Dodgers World Series rematch in Los Angeles, a Texas rivalry between the Rangers and the Astros, and star-studded matchups featuring MVP Shohei Ohtani, along with the Dodgers facing Bryce Harper’s Philadelphia Phillies and Juan Soto’s New York Mets. For the third consecutive season, the broadcasts will be hosted by teams including Wayne Randazzo (play-by-play), Dontrelle Willis (analyst), and Heidi Watney (sideline reporter), alongside Alex Faust (play-by-play), Ryan Spilborghs (analyst), and Tricia Whitaker (sideline reporter). Lauren Gardner, Russell Dorsey, and Xavier Scruggs will provide in-studio and on-field pre- and postgame coverage, with Siera Santos hosting select pregame shows and Rich Waltz calling select games.
The Emmy Award-winning production team from MLB Network, in partnership with Apple’s live sports crew, produces “Friday Night Baseball.” Each game will utilize cutting-edge cameras and immersive 5.1 sound with Spatial Audio, featuring player and field-level microphones to bring fans into the stadium experience. Viewers in the U.S. and Canada will also have access to home and away local radio broadcasts during the games.1
Starting on opening day, March 27, fans in the U.S. can tune into MLB Big Inning, a show featuring live highlights and in-game looks on weekday evenings, along with other MLB-related content on Apple TV+, including Countdown to First Pitch, MLB Daily Recap, and MLB This Week. Additionally, fans can access free MLB programming in the Apple TV app, such as game recaps, classic matches, highlights, interviews, and more.
With the multiview feature on Apple TV 4K devices and iPads, fans can watch up to four streams simultaneously, including “Friday Night Baseball” games, Major League Soccer matches, and select MLB and MLS live shows.2 The Post Play feature allows viewers to easily switch to other live games after their current program concludes.
Moreover, Apple announced the upcoming film VIP: Yankee Stadium, an immersive video experience for Apple Vision Pro that offers viewers exclusive access to Yankee Stadium, one of sports’ most iconic venues. In this film, hosted by broadcasting icon Joe Buck, fans will witness a June 2024 “Friday Night Baseball” matchup between the Yankees and the rival Los Angeles Dodgers, exploring everything from pre-game preparations to the electrifying game atmosphere.
This season will be complemented by Fight For Glory: 2024 World Series on Apple TV+, an unprecedented docuseries diving into the high-stakes drama of the World Series as the New York Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers compete for the esteemed trophy. This three-part documentary offers an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the teams’ postseason journeys, featuring interviews with players, coaches, fans, and family members, produced in collaboration with MLB, Imagine Documentaries, R.J. Cutler’s This Machine, and five-time World Series Champion Derek Jeter.
The free Apple Sports app for iPhone is the ideal way for fans to keep track of scores, stats, standings, and their favorite MLB teams, allowing users to easily navigate upcoming games, play-by-play details, and live betting odds.3 Apple Sports syncs seamlessly with the My Sports category in the Apple TV app and Apple News. With iOS 18 and watchOS 11, the Apple Sports app also features Live Activities for MLB games, presenting live scores and updates right on the user’s iPhone Lock Screen and Apple Watch.
In Apple News, fans can effortlessly follow the MLB and their favorite teams through the league feed, receiving personalized highlights each week. Every Friday, a curated selection of top league stories will be accessible to fans. In Apple Music, exclusive playlists featuring the walk-up songs from each week’s teams, along with a collection of classic baseball-themed songs, will be available.

“Friday Night Baseball” can be viewed by Apple TV+ subscribers through the Apple TV app, available on iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, Mac, and Apple Vision Pro, as well as online at tv.apple.com. New this season, Android users can download the Apple TV app from Google Play on Android devices to subscribe and enjoy “Friday Night Baseball,” and U.S., UK, and Canadian Prime Video customers can add Apple TV+ to their subscriptions.
