The Google Home team introduced several new features for users this week, with the highlight being the integration of Gemini into the service. Gemini can now provide detailed descriptions for Nest users, such as identifying deliveries or pets in clips. Additionally, users can now search camera histories using natural language queries for specific events.
Another new feature, “Help Me Create,” allows users to set up reminders and announcements easily. This feature aims to simplify home automation tasks by allowing users to describe their needs in natural language.
Google plans to roll out these new features to a small group of Nest Aware Plus subscribers later this year. The features will be available in the Home app on Android in English and U.S. only initially.
Notable new features include Nest Doorbell notifications on Pixel Tablet, the dream clock on Pixel Tablet, a home panel screensaver for Pixel Tablet, and the home panel on Google TV. The Google Home Favorites widget is also available on Android and iOS.
