Apple has broken ground on two new production studios in Culver City, Los Angeles, four years after purchasing the land.

In July 2021, it was reported that Apple TV+ was looking for a site for dedicated studio and office space. In October 2021, it acquired 550,000 square feet along National, Venice, and Washington Boulevards in Culver City.

After gaining planning permission in 2023, construction has now begun, with two cranes appearing on the site at 888 Venice Boulevard, according to Urbanize magazine.

The site will consist of two buildings totaling 536,000 square feet for offices, production space, and a 1,200 vehicle car parking area. The buildings will be four and five stories high with terrace decks on the upper floors.

Shuttle bus drop-off points and multiple street-level entries are planned, along with a 58,000 square feet open space area around the campus.

Apple expects its Los Angeles offices to accommodate over 3,000 employees by 2026. This expansion comes as reports suggest that Apple TV+ budgets are being cut due to financial losses.
