ChatGPT and Google emerged victorious in the battle for the best tech Super Bowl ads, while Meta failed to impress.

Super Bowl commercials often fall into two categories: emotional messages about love and acceptance or celebrity-filled comedy routines. Google went for the emotional approach, while Meta’s attempt at humor fell flat. However, ChatGPT’s commercial stood out from the rest.

As someone who reviewed Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses and enjoys Marvel movies, I was looking forward to the quirky humor involving AI and stylish glasses. However, both ads focused on mocking modern art rather than showcasing the practical benefits of the glasses.

The lack of clarity on the glasses’ functionalities may have been a missed opportunity to appeal to a wider audience unfamiliar with tech. The visuals and concept weren’t as relatable as they could have been, potentially hindering the message’s effectiveness.

The Super Bowl ad relied heavily on star power but lacked a clear message about the benefits of the glasses. A more relatable scenario featuring an inquisitive child actor could have resonated better with viewers. Despite Meta’s success in selling AI glasses, the ad missed an opportunity to convey a compelling reason to purchase the product.

In contrast, Google’s Pixel 9 commercial resonated more due to its heartfelt approach. Instead of focusing on technical details, the ad emphasized themes of familial love and self-belief, with AI playing a subtle yet supportive role.
