Apple has released the third round of developer betas, starting with a quiet trial of tvOS 18.3’s third beta and HomePod OS 18.3. The third beta for tvOS 18.3 follows the second beta released on January 7, with the first round issued on December 16.
Additionally, the third developer beta of HomePod OS 18.3, used by HomePod and HomePod mini, has also been released. The latest tvOS 18.3 build is 22K5553a, replacing the previous build 22K5540e. Users can manually install it on their Apple TV through the settings app.
Unlike other beta releases, tvOS 18.3 doesn’t usually include many feature updates but focuses more on bug fixes and performance improvements. Users are advised by AppleInsider and Apple not to install test operating systems or beta software on primary hardware to avoid data loss. It is recommended to use secondary or non-essential devices and ensure proper backups of critical data.
