Apple introduces The Weeknd: Open Hearts, an innovative immersive music experience created exclusively for Apple Vision Pro.
Today, Apple unveiled The Weeknd: Open Hearts, a stunning immersive music experience from the multi-platinum artist, now available solely on Apple Vision Pro for a limited time. This experience utilizes Apple Immersive Video, a cutting-edge 180-degree media format that combines high-resolution video with Spatial Audio, allowing viewers to feel fully immersed in the journey. Participants will accompany the artist on an electrifying sonic adventure through a surreal, haunting metropolis. Fans can witness the full experience and explore the world of spatial computing by scheduling a demo of Apple Vision Pro at their nearest Apple Store starting tomorrow, November 15.1 For now, users can enjoy Open Hearts for free through the Apple TV app on Apple Vision Pro.
“Apple Immersive Video transforms The Weeknd’s artistic vision with Open Hearts, presenting a revolutionary music experience exclusive to Apple Vision Pro,” stated Tor Myhren, Apple’s vice president of Marketing Communications. “With Vision Pro, fans can engage with storytelling in ways previously unimaginable, thanks to the immersive visuals and Spatial Audio that place them at the center of the experience. This marks a significant advancement in the intersection of music and technology, and we are thrilled to partner with The Weeknd to make it a reality.”
Directed by Anton Tammi and inspired by the iconic skyline of downtown Los Angeles, Open Hearts is a work that showcases a new dimension of music presentation. Tammi also helmed the music video for Hurry Up Tomorrow’s lead single, “Dancing In the Flames,” filmed entirely on the iPhone 16 Pro Max by Erik Henriksson and edited on a Mac.
Apple Immersive Video is revolutionizing how music performances are experienced, and The Weeknd: Open Hearts is the latest addition to the growing library accessible for free on Apple Vision Pro. On November 22, Apple will launch Concert for One, inviting fans to enjoy intimate performances from top artists. This special set, recorded at Air Studios in London with RAYE and her 20-piece band, blends R&B, jazz, and pop for a unique performance available in Spatial Audio exclusively on Apple Music.
