Google is set to introduce a new security feature in the latest version of Google Play Services. This feature will automatically restart your device if it remains locked for 3 consecutive days. While this feature is labeled as “future optional,” it is not yet available but is likely being prepared for future implementation.
The purpose of this automatic restart is to enhance the security of your device. By restarting the phone, it enters a secure state that requires you to unlock it again, adding an extra layer of protection. This feature aims to increase security if your phone is left inactive and locked for an extended period.
The changelog for Google Play Services v25.14 also includes updates in Device Connectivity, Location & Context, Security & Privacy, System Management, Utilities, and Wallet. These updates aim to improve device connections, location settings, system management services, and more.
Keep an eye out for the arrival of this new security feature and let us know if it becomes available for your device.
