A possible upcoming Google weather app could be released alongside the Pixel 9.

Google revamped its weather experience last year, introducing a modernized UI with more information tailored for larger devices like the Pixel Tablet. This updated weather experience is now available for all Android users who access weather information through Google Search, offering an enhanced weather service.

Initially, speculation suggested that last year’s Google Weather update would bring a standalone app, but this turned out to be incorrect. The new weather interface is integrated within the Google App. However, leaks suggest that Google is working on an exclusive Pixel Weather app, set to debut with the Pixel 9 and later expand to older Pixel models.

The upcoming Google Weather app for Pixel devices will resemble the current weather display on Google Search, with a cleaner top section and the removal of the beloved frog animations. The app will include 10-day forecasts and details on wind, sunrise/sunset times, UV index, humidity, and pressure. Users may also have the flexibility to customize the layout by long-pressing and rearranging elements, a feature unique to dedicated weather apps.

Overall, the updated weather service aims to simplify access to weather information and enhance user experience. Google’s commitment to improving the weather experience is evident through these recent developments, building upon the UI enhancements introduced in Search over the years.
