Samsung Galaxy Note 4 to get a curved screen

The Galaxy Note 4 is expected to get officially unveiled in just around a month at IFA in September, but while Samsung has managed to keep a cap on leaked images, the veil of secrecy around its fourth-gen phablet is getting thinner. Korean publication ET News now reports that the Galaxy Note 4 will feature a premium design using metal (in contrast with the plastic Note 3), come with a flexible screen, and sport a 16-megapixel camera with optical image stabilization (OIS).

At the same time, this latest report says there will be a plastic version of the Note 4 phablet as well. We don’t know whether it’d come as a downgraded ‘Note 4 Neo’ of sorts, but so far, indications are that users will get to pick between a metal and a plastic design.

The most exciting news about the Note 4, however, has got to be about the flexible screen. Last year’s Note 3 came with a 5.7-inch screen, which is already fairly huge, and this report says nothing about the likely size of the Note 4, but it does mention that Samsung has ramped up production of flexible panels by 50%, anticipating the launch.

The final revelation that we have in this report is the camera – the Note 4 is said to come with a 16-megapixel camera with optical image stabilization (OIS). Chances are that Samsung will use its own sensor that it first debuted in the Galaxy S5, but the OIS is a new element, a welcome addition for video buffs.
