It seems that the European, unlocked version of the Samsung Galaxy S5, which is rolling under the SM-G900F model name, is currently being treated to a firmware update, which will improve the general performance of the forerunner. It will bring your firmware version to XXU1ANG2 and apart from the numerous (and most-welcome) under-the-hood tweaks and enhancements, the update also comes with a brand new kernel and a baseband.
This is but the second update that Samsung has pushed to its flagship. Just a week after the Galaxy S5 hit the shelves back in April, the tech giant stepped up the game of the dust- and water-proof device even further with a performance-boosting update. In addition, the Galaxy S5 received a bug-killing hotfix just a day prior to its launch.
As usual, it may take a while before the latest performance-centric update makes its way to your Samsung-branded digital companion. If you have no desire in playing the notorious waiting game, you can manually check if it’s available by going to Settings > About phone > Software updates.
Have you already received said update? Do you notice any notable performance improvements? Drop a line and tell us!
