Google Photos Introduces Smart Solution to Enhance Its Slow “Ask Photos” AI Feature

Earlier this month, Google acknowledged that the “Ask Photos” feature in Google Photos wasn’t meeting expectations, leading to a temporary pause in its rollout. However, an enhanced version is set to launch shortly, marking the end of this pause and the beginning of a more expansive rollout.

Update on Google Photos “Ask Photos”: In a brief blog post today, Google revealed that they have listened to user feedback requesting a faster search option alongside Ask Photos. The new approach combines traditional search with Ask Photos, enabling quicker results for simpler queries. Users will receive instant search results while Gemini’s AI works its magic in the background to deliver more refined results.

This update appears to provide a more streamlined experience compared to the previous separate search options, which required toggling for faster or AI-assisted results. Though we haven’t had a chance to test this new feature yet, Google has announced its availability to “eligible users” in the US immediately. Feel free to share your experience if you see the update.
