New clips circulating on social media showcase a fresh Samsung feature for the One UI lock screen in the upcoming operating system.
As highlighted by tipster Toprak, the latest One UI 8 beta for the Galaxy S25 Ultra outlined an addition to lock screen customization on its “What’s New” page (via Android Authority). The splash page introduces a feature for trying a lock screen clock that “fits to your photos.” In a detailed video, Samsung demonstrates how the lock screen clock adapts to the elements in your selected images.
The clip from the tipster reveals that the clock can dynamically reposition itself around faces or other elements within your picture, providing a contemporary and artistic touch to your lock screen. According to Samsung, this new clock functionality “works with both people and animals.”
This lock screen modification gives the clock a unique font as it morphs. Depending on the orientation or contours of the image, the clock will stretch or enlarge to complement it seamlessly. The publication also notes key tipster Ice Universe, who observed that this stylistic feature is functional only when the lock screen is fully active.
While using Samsung’s AOD (always-on display), the clock’s morphing characteristics remain static; however, once the lock screen is fully activated, the clock adjusts itself around the image as anticipated.

One UI 8 officially reached the Galaxy S25 series by the end of May. The initial beta brought numerous enhancements over One UI 7. Users have already noticed upgrades to the Now Bar and Now Brief, which offer more personalized insights and suggestions for daily tasks. Auracast now enables audio connections via QR code scanning, and the beta allows synchronization with multiple Auracast devices.
Several other apps, including the Reminders app and Calendar, also received updates.
In related news, Samsung’s Gallery app has been spotted with a new feature: “Private Album,” aimed at securely storing sensitive photos and videos away from unauthorized access. This feature has raised speculation of being a more straightforward version of Samsung’s Secure Folder, designed solely for photos and videos without needing the full setup of a Secure Folder. It’s expected to debut alongside One UI 8.
While the release timeline for One UI 8 (Android 16) on Samsung devices remains unclear, rumors suggest that the next foldable device may launch with the software (potentially coinciding with its stable release).
