A few weeks ago, Google released one of its “#BestPhonesForever” ads, playfully mocking Apple for allegedly mimicking the Pixel design in the upcoming iPhone 17. The video highlighted rumors surrounding this redesign and pointed out how Apple had previously borrowed features from Pixel phones. It’s a light-hearted take and shouldn’t be taken too seriously.
Pixel 10 Teasers Begin: Now, Google is back with another ad, continuing its playful jabs at Apple for several features unveiled at WWDC. During the keynote, we noted how Apple seemed to replicate the Call Screen suite from Google’s Pixel lineup. However, the copying jokes in this ad are less significant since it marks the first mention of the Pixel 10.
After a back-and-forth on the theme of feature copying, the iPhone concludes the ad by asking, “So, what are you working on for Pixel 10?” This moment adds a touch of awkwardness after all the copying banter. The reference to the Pixel 10 in an official ad is crucial here, as it confirms its existence, suggesting that Google will soon reveal more details and teasers.
For those who may not remember, Google began teasing the Pixel 9 series at the end of June last year, launching the phones in August. They followed a similar pattern with the Pixel 8 series, showcasing it in September 2023 before launching it in October.
Given that Nothing is ramping up its teasing ahead of its Phone 3 launch in July, and Samsung is expected to unveil new foldables around the same time, Google will likely want to maintain focus on the Pixel 10, especially if they stick to an August launch.
